Module 3: Emergency Release

Detection of Extremely Hazardous Substance (EHS) or Hazardous Substance (HS) Release

This module describes the on-going requirements under EPCRA. They cannot be performed just once, and there are no specific annual reporting dates. They must be implemented at a moments notice whenever they are relevant. In order to meet the reporting which must be implemented as well as other actions associated with a release from a DOE facility, it is recommended that the facility develop a Release Response Plan. This plan should include the steps outlined in this module, but it is not limited to these steps.
